Mission & Vision

Go therefore and make disciples...

The Mission

The mission of Calvary Chapel Oceanside is the same mission Jesus gave his followers: Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

The Vision

The vision of Calvary Chapel Oceanside is to create a community of authentic disciples and to witness a city transformed by the life changing reality of the Gospel, as people come to know Jesus as their Lord and savior.

what we believe

In getting to know and commit to a local church,
it is vitally important to know what that church is founded on and believes in.

In fact, God is our priority. Through Jesus Christ each of us has entered into a personal relationship with God. When we meet together we all give ourselves to Him again in worship. We expect to encounter God in every meeting. Since God desires to speak to us, we emphasize the study of the Bible in our services and demand that our leaders spend time in prayer seeking God’s will.

we are related to one another

Every Christian who knows God and is surrendered to His Spirit can minister to others with biblical wisdom and spiritual gifts.
As a church, we spend time encouraging, supporting, and healing each other. We strive to engage the love of God when
strengthening the spiritual life of others. Our ministry is for individuals, marriages, families, and children.

we are related to the world

While many people in our society resist God's will and rules, we embrace His kingdom and government. Nevertheless, we are the world's best friend. We are here to share God's life and blessings to our nation and community as well as others in distant countries. The church is an instrument of God's healing for people whose lives have been broken by rejection, abuse, alcoholism, death and many other hurts which are present in our society. There is hope and we are here to proclaim the reality of God to the world.

We Believe ... in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as being verbally and completely inerrant in the original writings and that they are the supreme and final authority in faith and life.

We Believe ...in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We Believe ... that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.

We Believe ... that man was created in the image of God, that man sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners in thought, word, and deed.

We Believe ... that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are redeemed and justified by His shed blood.

We Believe ... in the physical resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord Jesus Christ, His ascension into heaven and His present life for us as High Priest and Advocate.

We Believe ... in “that Blessed Hope,” the personal, premillennial and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We Believe ... that all who receive, by faith, the Lord Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.

We Believe ... in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost along with Satan and other fallen angels.

We Believe ... in the threefold work of the Holy Spirit; that He seeks out and brings the lost to salvation; that He sanctifies the believer; and that He baptizes and gives spiritual gifts to the Christian for service.

We Believe ... that the church is a spiritual organism made up of all believers in Christ; that in its local manifestation it is an autonomous assembly of believers; and that its ordinances are baptism and communion.

We Believe ... that God is worthy of all praise, reverence and love; and that the highest calling of a Christian is worship of Him.
