harvey sega

marriage pastor

Born in 1973 to Reverend Sipoki and Launiu (Paopao) Sega, Harvey Paulo Sega was the middle child of 5. Growing up in Oceanside in the ‘80s exposed Harvey to drugs, alcohol, and gangs at an early age. Although Harvey would fall victim to his environment making ill-advised decision after decision, Harvey knew in the depths of his heart the difference between right and wrong. But our flesh is a slippery slope when you don’t crucify it daily.

Harvey graduated from El Camino High School in 1991. In and out of legal problems, it was time for a change of scenery. With calculated pressure from his  Auntie Saga, he joined the U.S. Army in 1992 until being honorably discharged in 1999. Right on God’s schedule, brighter days were on the horizon. During his military tenure, Harvey met the love of his life who would eventually become the first lady of the Sega home–Jessica Feller. A definite bright spot but Harvey’s appetite for “self,” presented unnecessary conflicts that eventually would become a necessary interruption.

In 2001, Pastor TK invited Harvey to a CCO retreat that would change the course of Harvey’s life forever. It was there, that he finally surrendered his life to Christ Jesus. The inner man was truly awakened and Harvey’s fervor and zeal for the Lord became evident in his pursuit in pleasing God.

Harvey immediately started serving in Children’s, Jr High, High School, Safety Team, and Men’s Ministries at CCO. In 2018, Harvey was vetted and confirmed by the Elders to serve on the Board of Directors. Along the way, the Lord had graciously entrusted Harvey and Jessica to steward over 7 gifts. The final score being 4 boys to 3 girls. Boys: Jacob, Noah, Luke, and Micah; Girls: Grace, Faith, and Hope.

In early 2023, the Lord placed the calling for Harvey and Jessica to shepherd over the Marriage Ministry. Both Harvey and Jessica are humbled by this responsibility but have also grieved over the couples that forfeit their biblical roles within the marriage covenant between one man and one woman. Marriage can become weighty at times, but God’s yoke is easy and His burden is light. Marriage is God’s idea, God’s creation, God’s plan, God’s heart to demonstrate to the world–His relationship with the church.

"But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God."

Acts 20:24
