our culture
1. What type of church is Calvary Chapel of Oceanside (CCO)?
Calvary Chapel Oceanside (CCO) is a growing community of people who are intentionally following Jesus, who are being changed daily by Jesus, and who are committed to the mission of Jesus - to make disciples everywhere. We’d love for you to join us!
2. How do I learn about your beliefs?
Please head over to our Mission and Vision webpage to learn all about what we believe.
3. What should I wear?
Generally, we’re pretty casual and comfortable when we gather. We want you to be comfortable, so dress up or dress casually. For us, it’s not about the way we look; it’s about being real with one another as we seek to honor and hear from Jesus. We welcome you to come as you are!
4. What happens when I arrive?
We’ve been waiting for you! We know how stressful coming to a new church can be so we want to limit that for you. On your first visit, hopefully you feel the love as you’re greeted by the members of our welcome team as you make your way to the service. We have plenty of designated spots at the front of our building for our First-time Guests and those needing disability parking.
No doubt you will have questions when you arrive so we have people waiting at the entrance to assist you with where to go, where to take your kids, and even where to find a cup of coffee and donut. Simply look for a Welcome Team member, they’d love you point you in the right direction.
5. What is a service like at CCO?
Every weekend we have three identical in-person services to choose from. Services times are Saturdays at 6:00 pm, and Sundays at 9:00 & 11:00 am, and last approximately 90 minutes.
OOur typical weekend services consist of contemporary-style music with a wide range of electric instruments and drums. The songs we sing together are mostly current worship songs with occasional traditional songs and hymns mixed in. In each service, we provide practical teaching, encouragement, and challenge from the Word of God for the real things we face in our everyday lives.
All weekend Services are live-streamed on Facebook, YouTube, and our CCO App. Kids of all ages are welcomed in our Main Sanctuary for all services. We love kids and feel it is a good practice for families to worship together. In addition, we offer a private room for nursing mothers and a room for families to view the service at the back of the auditorium, if desired. Please ask an usher in lobby for direction to these rooms.
6. What is an online service like?
We live stream all weekend Services on Sundays at 6:00pm, and Sundays at 9:00am and 11:00am. Download our CCO app where you can watch live or search for past messages. See our Media webpage for more information.

You are our guests, and we pray that you will be encouraged by your time with us and want to become part of our community in the future.

Other
1. Do you offer Baby/Child Dedications?
Yes! This is an important milestone in your lives and your child's life. Dedications differ from baptisms because in a baptism the child is considered to be saved but this is not a biblical pattern. Salvation comes when one is able to understand and accept Jesus as their Savior and is committed to walking in obedience. The request for a dedication is you, as parents, professing to provide a biblical home environment for your child so that when he or she comes to the age of understanding, he / she will accept Jesus as his / her Savior. If you have any further questions about dedicating your child, please call the church office to talk with one of our pastors.
2. Do you offer Memorial / Wedding Services?
Yes! Please contact our office at (760) 754-1234.
3. What Bible translation do you use?
We primarily teach from the ESV translation.
