what type of church is calvary oceanside?

Calvary Chapel Oceanside (CCO) is a growing community of people who are intentionally following Jesus, who are being changed daily by Jesus, and who are committed to the mission of Jesus - to make disciples everywhere. We’d love for you to join us!

what should i wear?

Generally, we’re pretty casual and comfortable when we gather. We want you to be comfortable, so dress up or dress casually. For us, it’s not about the way we look; it’s about being real with one another as we seek to honor and hear from Jesus. We welcome you to come as you are!

what happens when i arrive?

We’ve been waiting for you!
We know how stressful coming to a new church can be so we want to limit that for you. On your first visit, hopefully you feel the love as you’re greeted by the members of our welcome team as you make your way to the service. We have plenty of designated spots at the front of our building for our First-time Guests and those needing disability parking.

No doubt you will have questions when you arrive so we have people waiting at the entrance to assist you with where to go, where to take your kids, and even where to find a cup of coffee and donut. Simply look for our team who are wearing the badges that say, How Can I Help You?  They’d love you serve you.

what is a service like at cco?

Every weekend we have three in-person services to choose from, which are identical. The Services times are Saturdays at 6:00 pm, and Sundays at 9:00 & 11:00 am.

Our typical weekend services consist of contemporary-style music with a wide range of electric instruments and drums. The songs we sing together are mostly current worship songs with occasional traditional songs and hymns mixed in. During the service we update you with all that’s going on in our CCO family via video and verbal announcements. In each service, we provide practical teaching, encouragement, and challenge from the Word of God for the real things we face in our everyday lives. The Services last approximately 90 minutes.

All weekend Services are live-streamed on Facebook, YouTube, and our CCO App. Kids of all ages are welcomed in our main sanctuary for all services. We love kids and feel it is a good practice for families to worship together. In addition, we offer a private room for nursing mothers and a room for families (who’s kids may be having a rough day) to view the service at the back of the auditorium, if desired. Just ask an usher in lobby for direction to these rooms.

what is an online service like?

The services we stream online provide opportunities for you to chat and connect with other CCO members - locally and throughout the world. These live streams can be viewed on your smartphone, laptop, or TV via Facebook, YouTube, or our CCO app. Let us know if you need direction on how to set up? Also, all of our messages and much more can be found on our website or CCO app 24 hours a day. So, stay connected!

How can I meet others and get connected?

Well, if you haven’t already, join us for one of our weekend Services. We would love to meet you and let you know a little more about us. We think you like what you see!

We know that finding and connecting to a new Church home can be a BIG deal—we get it!  So here at CCO, we have a clear 3 Step pathway to help guide you. We call it Starting Point. And what better place to begin your Starting Point than with Step.1:
  • Step.1 – Get Connected.
This one-day class gives you a chance to hear a bit about us, what we stand for, where we are going as a Church and how you can connect with our Church community. Also, during our time, we’d love to get to know you a little bit too. To register for our next scheduled class, see our website, or better yet, talk with one of our Welcome team members after the Service and take the next step with us!
  • Step.2 - Get Growing
This three-week class will help you move forward in your spiritual life, giving you the practice and habits necessary to live and love more like Jesus.
  • Step.3 - Get on Mission
This five-week class will help you discover how God has uniquely designed you and called you to live your life with real purpose.

Class dates and times vary. To register, see our website, or better yet, talk with one of our Welcome team members after the Service. Let us help you today get on the pathway to connecting, growing, and living on mission with us!

what about giving?

We believe all of our abilities and possessions have been given to us by God, and we’re caretakers of them. We’ve learned when we trust God in obedience by giving back to Him a portion – He is honored and provides for us. If you’re new with us or just checking out CCO, please feel no obligation to give to CCO. You are our guests, and we pray that you will be encouraged by your time with us and want to become part of our community in the future.

For those who call CCO their home, we provide three ways to give: bring your offering in during office hours (9-5 pm), or place it in the boxes at the back of the auditorium at a Service, or give online which most of your church family uses.
