LAFF (Life After Fifty-Five)™ is the name of our Senior Ministry here at Calvary Chapel Oceanside. LAFF exists to serve those who are 55 years old or better. The LAFF ministry includes fellowship, outreach, Bible study, and service. At Calvary Chapel Oceanside, we love God, love each other, and love the lost. Of course, we love God in everything we do. One aspect of that love is the seniors Bible study that meets weekly to grow in the Word. We love each other through fellowship, consisting of planned activities such as meals, day trips and other group activities, and also opportunities for service. We love the lost by providing non-threatening opportunities to invite those who may not have a church home.
Seniors Bible Study
Get engaged with in-depth study of God’s Word every Thursday morning at 10:00 AM in the Praise Room. Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Savior Jesus Christ and enjoy the fellowship!
Save the dates! Here's what's being planned for LAFF:
- Saturday April 1, 2017 – Since we live in the land of the car, let’s visit a top-notch museum about them! The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles is much more than a large room filled with cars parked in rows like an indoor parking lot. Come experience the exhibits celebrating various eras and sources of the automobile. The museum features rotating exhibits and a Discovery Center.
- Saturday, May 6, 2017 – Come have lunch with us in the Family Sanctuary at CCO, then meet our own Alan Chester, a Messianic Jew who will share his testimony. After we hear from Alan, we’ll have the opportunity to see the movie “The Hiding Place”, the story of Corrie ten Boom and her efforts to save hundreds of Jews and Dutch underground from the Nazis in Holland during World War 2.
- Saturday June 10, 2017 – Time for another day bus trip. This time we’ll travel to the Huntington Library and Gardens in Pasadena to see the library, art collections, and the gardens. The Huntington is a fabulous venue, well known for its beauty and fine art. For those who have been on LAFF bus trips before, you know that the journey there and back is also a great time of fellowship and getting to know others in the group. Join us!
